THE HOUSE OF YAHSHUA

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

1. GOD

God is composed of the Father and the Son. Together They created the earth and universe, They sustain and rule it, and They are in control of the destiny of mankind.

John 1:1-4, 10:30 & 36; I Cor. 15:27-28; Eph. 1:17 & 20-22, 3:9

2. YAHSHUA THE MESSIAH

Yahshua the Messiah is the Anointed One of God, the Son of God, and the son of man. He was Yahweh - the Creator God of the Old Testament. He gave up His status as God, took on human form, and gave Himself as a sacrifice to die for the sins of mankind.

John 1:1-14, 3:16, 8:23 & 58, 17:21; Phil. 2:5-8

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is composed of the essence, power, and mind of the Father and Yahshua. This Spirit is bestowed upon us at the laying on of hands after baptism and dwells in us thereafter.

John 20:22; Acts 1:8, 2:38, 19:2-6; Rom. 8:9; Col. 1:26-27

4. THE BIBLE

The entire Bible is the divinely inspired word of God, consistent throughout and without self-contradiction. It contains our God's plan of salvation for mankind and records His dealings with mankind throughout history.

II Tim. 3:16

5. SALVATION

Salvation is the means by which mankind is saved from the penalty of sin. We are saved through grace - unmerited pardon from the penalty of death - and are given the gift of eternal life by the blood of Yahshua.

Rom. 3:23-25, 6:23; I Peter 1:18-19

6. FAITH

Faith is the sure knowledge that God exists and will accomplish those things promised to us. The basic elements of faith are trust, submission, and hope.

Heb. 6:17-19, 11:6; I Tim. 4:10; James 4:7

7. BAPTISM

Baptism is performed by immersion in water, symbolizing death to the past sinful ways, burial of the old man in a watery grave, and the emergence of a new spirit-led man living with the Messiah's mind and following His footsteps. Baptism may be performed by any baptized member of God's church who has received the laying on of hands and has received the Holy Spirit.

Matt. 3:16, 28:19; Rom. 6:3-8

8. THE LAW OF GOD

The law of God is revealed in both the Old and New Testaments and is expressed by both physical actions and spiritual purpose. The Old Testament laws and the Ten Commandments are the foundation of all biblical teachings.

Leviticus; Deuteronomy; Matthew 19:17-19; II Cor. 3:6; Galatians 5:22-23; II Tim. 3:16-17; James 2:18; I John 2:3-5

9. THE SABBATH

The seventh-day Sabbath is to be observed as a holy day of rest and as a sign marking God's obedient people. It is to be observed now and in the Millennium.

Gen. 2:2-3, 3; Ex. 16:4-5 & 22-26, 20:8-11; Isa. 58:13-14, 66:23; Luke 4:16; Acts 18:4

10. THE ANNUAL HOLY DAYS

The annual Holy Days were ordained by Yahweh and picture His plan of salvation for mankind. They were observed by Yahshua and the New Testament church and will be kept in the Millennium.

Lev. 23; Zech. 14:16; Mark 14:12; John 7:2 &10; Acts 2:1, 27:9; I Cor. 5:7-8; Col. 2:16-17

11. SIN

Sin is the transgression of God's law.

I John 3:4

12. THE CHURCH

The true church is composed of those whom the Father has called, who are baptized into Yahshua, and in whom the Holy Spirit dwells. This indwelling Spirit begets a son of God. In the body of the Messiah all are equal, all are sons, and all are co-heirs with Yahshua.

Isaiah 56:1-8; John 1:12; Rom. 8:14, 16-17; Gal. 3:28-29

13. THE MINISTRY

In Yahshua's church He is the head. There are no rulers in this church, only servants. Every member, upon baptism and reception of the Holy Spirit, becomes a minister of Yahshua. All members are equal and subject to each other and Yahshua.

Matt. 20:25-28; Mark 10:42-44; II Cor. 3:5-6; Eph. 5:21-24; Phil. 2:3-5; Col. 1:18; Heb. 12:22-23; I Peter 4:10-11
